Oh yeah?

Womanizing is a common fact in the Filipino culture. Out of 10 Filipino women, 9 would say that their men had cheated on them. Since a relationship is a foundation of a couple who would want to start a home, it is also necessary to know what factors that caused these men to look for another nest other than their own. What are the key reasons why men would still look up for another attachment with other women? What emotional situations they do have to be able to cheat with their present wives or girlfriends? What are their reactions when faced being caught of having an affair? What do they do after they got busted out? What are the emotional strains women has to have undergone to be able to move on?

It’s pretty surprising that the man we trusted with our lives were the ones that would hurt our soul and heart by cheating on us. Of course trying to be fair for both genders, we would just not jump to any conclusions we can throw at them. We have to consider factors on why they chose to look for another affection other than ours. We cannot just simply become judgmental of their flaws but instead we will try to learn and understand why they are behaving so.

For these issues, I would like to share my own views of these factors that I have observed from both genders affecting a relationship that leads into waste.

1. Conflicting interests. Mostly, interests partakes a great common denominator in making the relationship work good. When a man is dominant with his interests and the woman doesn’t support him, it could lead into losing affections and would might soon become irresolvable wherein parting ways could be inevitable. Petty as it looks but when a guy is too fond of watching NBA on TV and the woman is standing by to also watch History Channel, it could be a problem as to who would hold the remote control. When switching channels, one loses interests and the other also lost desires to continue watching on. I know some would suggest to just get each a TV set but that is not just practical to average families. Still a strain to the relationship is likely to develop as each interest doesn’t make the other one interested. Therefore, no good interaction happened when one should be cultivating to chuck out a communication barrier.

2. Women are much smarter than the men. Inferiority often comes to men with partners that can generate great ideas when faced with tough situations. Situations like financial problems, family members involved in serious troubles, mean boss who’s fond of raising hell to everyone, or just even the most basic of things that’s happening in the household. Some men doesn’t so much like it when they see their partners being so analytical with situations and thus offered great solutions to what they were having hard times about. On the few times, they would feel happy to have done the right thing suggested by their partners but in the long run, they would lose confidence and sees the partner as stepping on their confidences to act on their own ideas and thus they sometimes resorted to being ill-tempered to show that they are still the man of the house.

3. Unimaginative sexual interaction. A relationship is bonded not just for achieving sexual interaction the literal way but also for satisfying the partner’s sexual desires. It is quite an uneasy discussion to tackle Filipino women’s sexual desires as mostly they would just stick to what they know as it is. Oftentimes, it is also exciting to try to make the lovemaking more fun by trying things nontraditionally. I do not suggest or imply to go beyond what is already the normal way of making love but keeping the heat of excitement and fun and loving moments will not give the chance for the partners to stray for mere reasons of being sexually unsatisfied with their partners. Most Filipino women are deprived of what is the wild way of making love as they see it as dirty largely imbued by religion and moral views of treating sexual interaction as a divine act. I once knew a guy who cheated his wife simply for reasons that another woman gives him exciting sexual pleasures than his wife. Another friend also mentioned that her husband only knows one bed position and never tried something different. Both of them suffered relationship strains but still both cling on amidst dissatisfactions as it is often a Filipino’s culture to save a family no matter how crazy and stormy the relationship goes.

4. Contrasting lifestyles. It is somewhat difficult to hang out with people whose interests never reach the kind that they have. His friends lives in the depressed area whose pastimes are to drink heavily on weekends, smoke continuously without considerations for non-smokers, played pretty loud music and talked loudly damaging eardrums for lack of control when drunk. Her preferences are quiet places to read and embark on anything worth educationally induced to enhance personal quests to understand the larger spins of the world. It came to a point that she no longer goes with him as nobody in his crowd can interact and engage her to an intellectual talk. He also doesn’t accompany her to watch movies and search books on bookstores or even read interesting happenings on the internet. It is not just a simple lifestyle difference but it affected their relationship as again, they both do not have a topic to engaged on discussion and stimulate both their philosophical views of stuffs and therefore enriched their own insights about things around them. (This could be the other way around)

5. Job securities. The man worked as a rank in file employee while the woman worked as a branch supervisor in a large chain of companies. Usually, the woman gets too busy doing her job and sometimes loses time to spend with her partner and function as a housewife to tend to his needs. Isn’t it that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach? Serve a man a good meal + loving care and great affections, I wonder if he would still look at someone else. But this will not happen if the woman is functioning as the one who gets a large check. It is often an unspoken truth that whoever is earning big has the last say on most cases. Taking the famous showbiz personality for example as having lots of projects and tremendous media exposure making her more famous than her husband, no matter how they say that they loved each other, still they end up untying the knots and go their separate ways. It’s pretty difficult when women are more ahead on most things than men. It often goes back as to who got balls when it comes to financial achievements. Often enough, women don’t care of losing their men as they can surely support themselves without them. But how do they cope with the emotional strains it caused them?

6. Fucked up trust. At one point in a relationship, a woman trust a man to not cheat on her and a man is depending that the woman would still stay the same like the first time they met, keep the same level of affection and make him the center of her life. In the course of starting a relationship, it is a huge risk on both sides to be with somebody whom they all thought to be someone who would stick with them through thick and thin, for richer or poorer, in health of sickness, for better or for worse and stand on that lifetime commitment. But when things started to go knotty, women do try to salvage the relationship first. When things start to work out again, one major mistake and the entire wall would collapse into rubble as the once solid relationship already has a crack on it. It’s difficult to put back trust again as it can be like a crystal ball that once broken can never be mended back. A man would feel so lost after losing his woman as they are mostly weak on dealing emotional problems. It is then that they resort to drinking or any vice they can think of just to forget their weaknesses. Most men are too chicken to face their own problems. It is sometimes true that only a woman can bring doom to a gallant and mighty man.

7. Non-acceptance of failures. Blaming the partner for the cause of the relationship rift than assessing the true issue often leads to insurmountable differences and freaky arguments that encourage more resentment to start hurtful verbal attacks. It is near impossible to remain calm when one is under heavy emotional outburst and rational thinking is too far away to get by. Men were often never good at explaining into words what they truly feel and left women to start the long rituals of trying to make their partners see mostly by beating around the bush rather than directly say the truth. Other men are also too proud to accept their own shortcomings and still find ways to direct the blames to their partners in any way they thought could save them from inner embarrassment of being wrong. Avoiding emotional confrontations like this sometimes push men to just simply skip the process and because mostly doesn’t think first before doing so – they just hook up with someone who would not question them of what they do. There starts the breaking of marriage vows to stick thru thick and thin where in fact a 20-minute screw with somebody else would cause your family life to crumble down and is irreparable already.

Worst Upshots of Industrial Revolution

There is nothing wrong in seeing industrial progress, advancing developments, urbanization, progressive changes on massive structural constructions that mark the sign of a developing society. These rapid changes in our natural landscapes into industrial sites hinted a great leap and obvious progressive revolution that may replace natural landscapes with artificial and machine generated edifices.

Forebodingly, the trouble is yet to come. The once fresh, cool and relaxing air was despicably substituted with polluted and poisonous gases that comes from car smoke emissions, manufacturing plant discharges and other causes that is extremely harmful to human’s health. In fact, we don’t have to expansively look far to find the culprits and serve justice at their faces. They are all around us and at one time we may find ourselves dreadfully shamefaced when we tolerate the obvious destruction of our beloved nature.

Some third world countries around Asia like Philippines itself, Taiwan, Thailand, Beijing China, Singapore, HongKong, Tokyo Japan, Vietnam, and Brunei has the same problem on all sorts of pollution. Some of these countries like Hong Kong has been fighting back on how to save and recycle used water into usable, safe drinking water again.

It is grievously distressing to know that in the cities there is no longer clean air to breathe. Of course, air pollution is the awful by-product in all urban settlements. Our once clear and blue sky now darkens with dusty smog and heavy dirt-loaded fog that proved to be unhealthy to the city’s inhabitants. There are millions of ways to easily pollute the air yet there has been no solution on how to stop this enormously destructive equivalent of progress. Who’s going to pay in this peculiar and yet highly repulsive crime? Who is suffering most from this deceptive brand of freely exercised air destruction?

One of the obvious examples of materials that greatly contribute to air pollution were those manufacturing plants that burn plastics. Those simple plastics from refreshment cups, sando bags, transparent water bottles and Expandable Polystyrene (EPS) or better known as styropor causes too much chaos in the nature’s already unbalanced cycle. Reckless burning of these plastics in open dumpsites or on backyards emits harmful gas into the atmosphere that when accumulated for a long time would result into a greenhouse effect.

Look what had become to the once fresh and clean waters in the rivers, lakes, brooks, bays, and shores. They are now filled with filthy muck and polluted household cesspools and gross open drainage that flow into the rivers. Whenever there is rain, garbage floats on street ducts and clog the drainage that resulted into flood. Floodwaters frantically inconvenience everybody adding to the gloom of the world that calamities may occur any moment that would endanger people’s lives. Is this the reward we wanted in exchange for industrial revolution?

Now what can we do to lessen these drastic environmental changes? We, of all the earth’s species would be most affected by these conditions. Nowadays, climatic changes has been evidently felt with those alarming fall of snow on deserts, those cold northeast monsoon wind blows to tropical regions, those ravaging tsunamis and unexpected eruptions on the earth’s surface, the incessant flooding and landslides all over the regions even with just moderate rainfalls has greatly proven that such changes in nature has warned us that the natural balance has been tipped to an alarming degree. When do we start to care? When do we begin to take notice that our only world is dying because of our grave mistreatment and rabid negligence.

Over the century, human lifespan has greatly declined and incurable diseases break the surface with a frightening reality that nothing can be done to treat this curse-like human infirmities. The world has been cloaked with different illness and myriad diseases that causes high mortality rate to humankind. Cancer, tuberculosis, hepatitis, AIDS, E-bola virus, boils, SARS, H1N1 and God knows what are the next worst plagues that could devastate humankind with dirty mutation caused by these extreme imbalances in nature.

Are we going to let this special planet die? Are we not going to try to save mother Earth from absolute destruction and preserve mankind? I love this wonderful planet so much and I will start my campaign in saving this world at this very moment. May those who are concerned about our world would start caring by doing simple things like taking care of household garbage, by minimizing the use of electricity to lessen too much release of heat energy, by thinking twice on dumping dirt on rivers, oceans and beaches, by tightening the laws in deforestation, and by urging each and everyone to start caring for our world, for our own lives and for the promise to the next generation that they will still inherit a peaceful and wonderful world when their turn to see the beauty of this planet comes.

Even trees feel pains

 Iron tube and wires pierced the midsection of this bark ignoring the pain of such intrusion into its trunk. Can they feel pain?

I often wonder at how plants cope and adjust to their surroundings. As a human being, I complained a lot on how coarse and steep my path turned out. I grumble so much on how things connived to stop me from getting what I wanted to be done right away, yet I fail to notice how humble these pictures showed me on how they strive hard just to survive the oddities of life.

Trees got hurt too but not as badly as the way human feels the pain. If this is the body of a careless drunkard wandering the streets at wee hours after a bout of drinking with friends, surely no doubt he cannot live long enough to last this kind of torment. I admire this tree because it endured the pain ever since I noticed this hindrance on its growth when it was still a sapling. This has been a normal scene especially in the congested part of the city's depressed areas. I looked stupid when I took this shot but I don't mind maybe because only I took notice on the oddities of life around me.

The rage of AIRSOFT war

 Definitely not the rebels of these times. This is one of the participating Airsoft clans who travelled from Visayas to join the tournament held in Multinational, Parañaque City.

These guys spared time to play this cool shooting game using real guns loaded with pellets. A clan has to have almost similar designs of camouflage uniforms to appear like a real soldier (of fortune) while most just donned on any military attires added with whatever distinctive group accessory to tell them apart from other clans. I found it cool to see these guys in their most coolest attire equipped with bullet vests, pads and airsoft masks, because even pellets can lash out skins when hit. Imagine a 700-800 rpm of fired pellets hits you on exposed flesh and see how painful those reddish dots could be. I myself would definitely do not want to be hit even by stray shots while watching the intense game once hot summer day.

~This tournament has game objectives: They are to retrieve the bomb and bring it back to their base and detonate it before the given time ended.

~Two opposing clans compete in retrieving a bomb situated in a strategic enclosure in the middle of the field while hostilely shooting members of the enemy. Of course each clan has already studied how to execute their game plans. Others has successfully retrieved the bomb but failed to detonate it. Others has effectively eliminated the enemies with players too aggressive in assaulting the opposing players. It really is war for these fanatics and the marshals are busy blowing whistles to say that their watched players were already hit and is out of the game.

Airsoft is getting popular or is now popular and the thrill and satisfaction these soldier-wannabees get will certainly make their day as most of them has different jobs that is very  far from being a real gunslinger of the west. Lolz. These hobbyist doesn't mind getting  exposed to different elements. (A real soldier-like attitude eh). They won't mind the searing heat of an afternoon sun that drenched them with clammy sweats while busy shooting enemy clans. They also don't care getting mosquito bites in the dark canopied-jungles of Laguna on one of their out-of-town tournaments. They are actually close to becoming a real soldier except that their real jobs doesn't function the way real soldiers' dedication in protecting people against the society's too real frightening elements.

The Abu Sayyaf Clan? These guys looked shy but they become ruthless and merciless in the warring field.

I never thought that these guys are real medical staffs on one of QC's hospital until I get to see them on smocks, gloves and masks. Funny but the interests these players have on Airsoft is more than the thrill from what their real world can offer. This is much better than firing the real gun and slaying people.

This man is a vet doctor sharing Airsoft passion with his kids. In front is the youngest player of 11 having ever joined the tournament. Since there are only 3 of them, they allied with other clans who are short with players.

The Ruins

I was lackadaisically bored one lethargic afternoon. I cannot write because my computer broke down and the only option I saw was to explore the nearby building ruins and see what exciting things I can find. Equipped with only less sophisticated gadgets, in fact I don’t really have much except for my phone and an old digital camera. My niece came along and these are all her shots using my Nokia phone. I found it amusing because our simple afternoon saunter can show exquisite stories to tell. We spend nothing but time. We took nothing but pictures. We wasted one thing but ourselves. 

Maybe I was just fascinated to say something about this ruins or maybe I somewhat wanted to associate these pictures to the famous ruins in Athens, Greece. Why would I spend a single penny to come up with something to share if I can have something worth digging up in the adjoining lot? Hell yeah, there is no way I can afford to travel to every nook and places that I wanted to explore and share back the experience. Just around beside the fenced garage is where this place stood.

From this dirty ground entrance, we took the stairs two at a time and came up to the dark and creepy squalid stairs leading upward to the wide open floor in the next level. Actually, the entry is reeking with thick undesirable odors as the drivers of the tricycle terminal in the front façade uses this as their public outback hideaway to piss or to dislodge gross excrements. I don’t blame them as there really is no public toilet constructed for their use. What a pity that the local interior unit doesn’t seem to care.

The second floor opens to an empty space of dirt and falling debris from the previous fire that ate up most of this entire rubble. I remember seeing this upper part of the building being consumed by the raging fire, smoke enveloped the middle section wherein a company that manufactures fiberglass molded sculptures and statuettes occupied.
