Phil Print Expo '05

Last September 23-25, 2005 at Phil Print Exhibit, everyone was excited because it would be our first time to see our top of the line Xeikon 5000 Digital Color Printing Machine to show its first run. It was indeed an amazing machine because on our first day, people were crowding at our booth as we were running varieties of good color prints. My task that day was to distribute LPS' calling cards and collect as many calling cards from visitors of other printing companies yet it changed when I saw LPS's new digital camera. Honestly, I brought my camera tripod along with me and leaving mine behind as I don't want to worry too much on my own valuale belongings. I haven't get the hang of using a fantastic camera yet when my chance close in when celebrities like Cheche Lazaro and Sen. Dick Gordon showed up at the expo.
I admit I didn't get the best shots for them when I was pushed to take photos even without professional coaching from Sir Joey or anyone who knows how to use an expensive and so nice a camera. But everything that happened fulfilled my dreams to become a photographer in just a short time knowing that two celebrities were my first subjects. It was a good feeling but sometimes outcomes were not of the best kind since as I mentioned above, I am not a pro.

People were crowding at our booth everytime the Xeikon 5000 machine prints full colored pictures and were just quite excited to grab poster give aways. I designed the layout for 2006 calendar and I did all my best to learn what Dirk (German gentleman) taught me the day before the expo. Of course, Dirk's years of knowledge in graphic designing won't be learned within 24 hours since he would be leaving on the day just before the very day of the Exhibit. What he taught me were just easy ones and I did my own exploration on how to design a layout and putting my own ideas on it and my own taste of design with the best of my artistic touch altogether. I wasn't satisfied with the outcome of the layout but I run out of time to change it. Geez, it wasn't easy especially if everyone is expecting on you and no one knows how to do it except youself. Of course, I am not selfish to keep what I have learned and sharing it with anyone who are most interested would be my pleasure and have them see things on an artist's perspective and also on extracting the essence of art that would look good in the eyes of a non-artist passers by.

Multi-tasking is always part of the bargain on occassions like this but I never complained because I love what I am doing. Graphic and arts has always been an interesting topic and I am happy in doing things that comes out of my mind but pressures sometimes kills my patience and giving up is always an alternative yet I still make options and do things accordingly then complain later. Professionalism is the term that is best suited to acheive good harmony with the people that I worked with. But on certain time during the show, a man harassed me and threatened to break my face if he sees me outside the building just for the reason that I didn't make his order a priority. He even almost attempted to hit me with a rolled poster that he was holding and again point his finger on my face that he's gonna mark it and later break my face in case I will venture outside. Damn the man for harassing me and if ever my eyes and mind has bullets, he'd probably be dead that instant he offended me. You guys may wonder why it comes this far, well, the stupid man wasn't asking a favor for me to do his request but it comes as a sort of order and that pissed me off since I have top priority instructions coming from my big bosses to ensure good quality printout or jeopardize the reliability and stardard capability of the machine at all. He was so impatient to get his personalized calendar when he was not a prospect client himself but still got the nerve to terrorize my unfussy start of a busy day's work. To hell with him, insulting me in front of my friends will definitely make me a virtual criminal (coz u know I don't want to hurt anyone lolz!) and good thing I don't have mind-casting spell ability or he will end up dead before the show ended.

The group includes: (Big bosses) Laurence P. Springthorpe - SEcomp Pres, Wilhelm Swiggers - Belgian Punch Grapix VP, John Thij - American visitor, Flory Hernandez - SEcomp VP. Ms. Cynthia, Ms. Mic Martinez, Sir Al Uy, Alex, Oscar, Arlan-SW Manager. Young beauties who rocked the show... lolz Debz, May, Avy, Cris, Joan, Yum, myself and myself again.

Mt. Makulot Trek in Batangas

The first time I went trekking at Mt. Makulot-Batangas, geez! I was pretty excited and haven't got enough sleep the night before. Well, fun is always at the beginning of everything and when we got there at the base of the mountain, I never anticipated that it would be actually hard. Nobody ever told me that it was a semi-major assault as it might discouraged the whole entourage who are much eager to reach the summit before noon and in time for cooking lunch.
That's me with a red beanie beside Francel-my cook buddy.
My limbs were literally shaking, sweat dripping my face, catching breath at every checkpoints but still determined to go up. Wow! How I love the trees, clinging vines, wild fruits and flowers and birds even with my 30 lbs. backpack on and feeling more and more heavier each step. It's cool beneath those tall trees and its grand canopy hid us from direct sunlight but still, I can't help myself complaining every time I slipped in those loose stone nuggets. No easy trails as every paths lead upwards the whole way through. It was suppose to be a 2 hrs. climb but we started a good pace, thus, we end up with only an hour and a half trek to the campsite. It was already midday and everyone wants to fill their empty stomach as soon as cooking is done. And who's the best cook up there? I'm proud to say that Francel and I makes a good cook in the wild because you know what? We didn't burn the food (lolz!) It requires a good deal of patience and a load of tricks to be able to cook under a very small burner and also with the constant wind blowing in every direction. Before everybody starved to death, we had our fills and soon slumber for a short nap under the open campsite. We had a 360 view around us and "sunset" is the best thing up there. No doubt mountaineers never stops making new trails in every mountain because it was their aim to see how wonderful the sunsets are up there.

Principles of War

Rationally speaking, the art of war is changing as every generation is evolving into a more technical level. Hi-powered and potent weapons were invented to eliminate enemies in one blow and at the wink of an eye. Destruction is the reward for this highly motivated illusion to achieve power and greater hold on it to continue its aim.

In view of the fact that in every action there is a reaction and that a chain of reactions would result into a more complicated outcome, war is just the product of the whole thing. Literally, leaders of the wars were gaining different techniques, strategies, and advances in technologies, yet, I would rather point out that their standard and principles of war wasn’t changed at all. Even with its breakthroughs and advances in science that give rise on its reputation, still, in my point of view and regardless to the influences and threats they were heaving up, it is on a certain aspect on which the ignition of the war started up. It all rooted in human’s fragile emotions such as greed, hatred, egocentric mechanism, dissatisfaction and superiority. Their motivation to keep going is as intense as the ‘eagle’s claws’ by which in every hold there is certainty and precise movements to achieve their direct advantage. Such actions of course results into a terrifying effect by which human race pays the consequences.

Humankind’s negative emotions causes them to act recklessly and inconsiderate on its state that it would risk to gamble anything at hand. Win or lose, it doesn’t matter because it has been the impulse of everyone to act soon and think later. It is a little bit odd for humans to provide adequate time to ponder things out that were about to be executed unless they would give it a try to whatever decisions they have made up in mind. It is the nature of human beings to complicate things even if there are better alternatives laid down at their feet. It is all a matter of choice and better verdicts to arrive at the best landing that would be favorable to everyone.

The power within the grasp of the leaders of the wars were excruciating because they are too anxious of what to do with it. That brand of power push them to try its potency and of course their own interest as on proving their inner desire in achieving certain goals, goals that were of course for their own enhancements.

On the other hand, defeat is the same as death in a warrior’s tongue but since we are advancing in technologies every split of a second, defeat is now vengeance and abhorrence. With malevolence like this leads them to establish each a full force of cold-blooded monsters who were callous in any sense and they would end up in an echelon of becoming a real frightening elements that could devastate a once tranquil and peaceful world.

The role of humankind in this world is not to kill each other but to preserve the future and not to destroy what holds it. Our very own future is as fragile as a new born baby and if war will torn it apart with the poisonous claws of the leaders of the wars, there’s no doubt our future will not witness the dawning of a better era.
